If you listened to this week’s podcast (episode 11), you heard Todd talk about the file card, his featured tool of the week!

A File Card is a wooden handled flat wire brush that we use to scrape wood grain into wood and give it a little bit of a distressed look to your models.
The great thing about these is that compared to other cheaper wire brushes is that they don’t fray and get destroyed as quickly, and we think they’re a little better to use and they hold up to last longer.
File cards are traditionally used for cleaning… You guessed it! Your metal and wood files, so these brushes are a little more durable.
We think it’s an essential tool for model railroading and model building, and you can pick one up for around $10 on Amazon.
