Nail Hole Debate 2019

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Way back in the Winter of 2019 the great nail hole debate took place on one of our Live model building sessions and what’s being now termed as The Great Nail Hole Debate of 2019 has spiraled into a controversy that seems to have no end.

We’ve got modelers on one side of the aisle shouting “you’d never even see nail holes at that scale from a reasonable distance” or things as crazy at “those nail holes aren’t even to-scale”! And they’re most likely right. I mean what kind of fine-scale modeler in their right mind would even THINK of adding things as preposterous as nail holes to their wood structures!

Then… On the other side, we’ve got a bunch of rebellious know-it-alls who think the nail holes add more “realism” and “depth” to their models. They even go as far as to say things along the lines of “I like them, so I’m putting them on my damn builds” and “it’s my building, and that’s how I want it”. Can you believe the nerve of these modelers? Putting things on their models that are blatantly out of scale most of the time? pshhh. HEATHENS!!!

Whichever side you find yourself on in the Great Nail Hole Debate of 2019, you can laugh about it and show your support for whichever side you believe is true with our new t-shirts!

Wear them at your next event or show and get a few chuckles or strike up a real modeling conversation about whether other people add them to their models. MAYBE you can teach someone who never even knew about adding details like that on their builds and it becomes a learning experience for someone new!?!?! Who knows what the possibilities are.

Seriously though… We’re just having fun with these and don’t really mind if you do or don’t put them on your builds.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Where Do You Stand?

I <3 Nail Holes Shirt

This is for the camp that LOVES adding nail holes to their structures whether or not they’re really 100% to scale or not.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”I <3 Nail Holes!” shape=”square” color=”turquoise” align=”center” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fhoscalecustoms.threadless.com%2Fdesigns%2Fi-heart-nailholes-dark||target:%20_blank|”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1527″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” link=”https://hoscalecustoms.threadless.com/designs/just-say-to-nail-holes/”][vc_column_text]

Just Say No to Nail Holes

Why do it? They’re really not to scale and you probably wouldn’t see them from a reasonable viewing distance anyway. Adding nail holes to your structures is just a slippery slope to unrealism. The design features a pounce wheel in the iconic circle-slash symbol.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Say NO to Nail Holes” shape=”square” color=”turquoise” align=”center” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fhoscalecustoms.threadless.com%2Fdesigns%2Fjust-say-to-nail-holes%2F||target:%20_blank|”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
