Model Railroading Feature Tool of the Week:
This week on our model railroading podcast we, as usual, talked about our favorite tools of the week and this week I featured the Helping Hands with Magnifying Glass that I’ve been using a lot recently to paint our HO scale figures (people).
Now I’m not as old as my pops is, but even at my age, it’s nice to have some magnification of these tiny figures and of course something steady to hold them in place while I’m painting them.
I just clip my work into the alligator clips, get my paint ready and go to town on small parts and figures.
It’s easy. It’s simple. That’s why I love using this thing.
It’s great for holding these little people steady and giving me a better look at them while I’m adding life to them.
Now, you’ll also need to have some halfway decent lighting to work on these figures. Especially if you’re working on it in a basement like I am. so a good light is necessary to aid in the painting of small detail parts and people with this tool.
