Micro Applicators, the cheap must-have tool!

Micro Applicators - Model Railroading Essential ToolsOne of my most used tools is a micro-applicator.

This tool is advertised online to be used for anything from makeup application to dental use, and we find that they are also great for an almost unlimited number of tasks in model railroading.

We love using these applicators for a wide variety of things on our workbench and I know that I use them mostly for applying glue in thin lines or on small spots. The small brush-like tip of the applicators is great for applying a small amount of glue to a detail part or a hard to reach area.

And since you can hold them more like a pen, they’re a great steady way to apply paint to small detail parts like painting people, small white metal parts, or lines and small areas on locomotives and buildings.

Cheap Model Railroading Tools You Must HaveThe best parts about these applicators are that they’re CHEAP! And by cheap, I’m talking 400 of them for $10 on Amazon cheap. Yes, of course, there are some hobby sites and stores that are re-packaging them for the hobby and model building industry, but they’re the same exact thing you can get here: 400 PCS Micro Applicator Brushes – Bendable Microfiber Applicators

$10 for 400, that comes out to $0.02 each… Two cents, you use it, you throw it away.

These applicators have become a staple on my workbench and I’ll always have a container of them handy whenever I’m working on the layout or any structure or model.

Pick some up for yourself. They’re awesome to have handy in your arsenal of tools!
