Every summer around this time FOS Scale Models releases a limited run kit. And every summer it usually sells out at an incredibly fast rate. The popularity of the limited run kit from FOS Scale Models has been ever-increasing and it seem like every year the kit sells out quicker each time.

The most exciting part about these kits might be the build-up of the excitement of the release of the kit and FOS does an incredible job of teasing their followers with little sneak peak clues of the new kit just before the big release. And when the photos of the new limited run kit are released the rush is on to get your hands on one before they’re out of stock.

This year’s limited run kit didn’t disappoint!

The Terminal - FOS Scale ModelsThe Terminal was released for pre-order this past weekend and just like its predecessors, it has fine scale modelers from all over scrambling to get their hands on their own before they’re out of stock.

The 2018 FOS Limited Run Kit features a town block that is centered around a small scale bus terminal with three bays. The kit is meant to represent the aging of town transit systems with an obsolete tolley car barn and garages or depots that had to be renovated to keep up with the changing times. Which with this build evolved from a trolley terminal to a bus terminal.

The other unique piece of this kit is the inclusion of a building that a lot of older towns may have had when horses were used as a primary means of transportation, a livery, which is a building where horses are housed and let out for hire. This adds a unique bit of character to the city block as an old, leftover from when the horse-drawn industry began to be taken over by motorized transportation. A livery remains in The Terminal kit, but since larger cities began to see cars and trucks pass horses by the mid to late 1910’s, this building adds a neat little bit of the past to be viewed.

Other key buildings on the block of this kit include a looming mill, Caswell Shoes, a small auto repair shop and a tavern appropriately named The Trolley Barn Tavern as a testament to the long gone trolley barn of the times.

There’s another optional additional building that you can pick up to add to the kit called the Canal Street Market which is a wholesale beef, poultry, and fish shop.
